In the spring of 1908, a sense of duty cost a lawman his life in the town of Kent, Washington. On April 10th, Kent Town Marshal Harry E. Miller was shot and killed as he attempted to apprehend a group of men suspected of robbery. The fatal encounter took place near the Kent stockyards, forever marking the landscape with a tragic event.
