James M. Bennett, a 38-year-old male of White/Caucasian ethnicity, served as a deputy with the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office in Washington. On July 14, 1911, he and Deputy Frank Sinclair rode several miles north of Chelan to serve a warrant on a sheepherder accused of grazing his flock on another farmer’s land.
