On the night of April 11, 2026, a celebration in Longview, Washington, turned into a scene of tragedy, resulting in the death of 21-year-old Cristian Segundo Garcia. Garcia, along with his 30-year-old cousin, Serjio Adrian Segundo, was attending a quinceañera at the AWPPW Hall on 15th Avenue, where approximately 200 people had gathered for the event.
The festive atmosphere was shattered when both men were fatally shot in the head in the venue's parking lot.
The investigation into the double homicide quickly led police to identify a suspect, 49-year-old Andres Carrasco-Sanchez of Kelso. According to court documents, Carrasco-Sanchez became angry during the party, believing that Garcia, his cousin, and another man were flirting with his girlfriend by making prolonged eye contact and smiling at her. This perception of disrespect allegedly prompted Carrasco-Sanchez to leave the celebration, retrieve a handgun from his residence, and return to confront the men.
Following the shooting, Carrasco-Sanchez fled the scene in his vehicle, leading police on a pursuit through West Longview. During the chase, he reportedly threw a semi-automatic handgun out of the window, which was later recovered by officers. The pursuit ended back at the AWPPW Hall parking lot, where Carrasco-Sanchez abandoned his vehicle and attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended by law enforcement.
Andres Carrasco-Sanchez was arrested and booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on two counts of first-degree murder. He has since been charged with two counts of aggravated first-degree murder with a firearm enhancement, unlawful possession of a firearm, and attempting to elude a pursuing police officer. Court records indicate that upon being informed of the deaths, Carrasco-Sanchez told investigators, "It's their fault, they started it." He has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the case is proceeding through the court system.
