On the night of April 11, 2026, a quinceañera celebration with approximately 200 guests at the AWPPW Hall in Longview, Washington, turned into a scene of violence that left two men dead. Among the victims was 30-year-old Serjio Adrian Segundo. He and his cousin, 21-year-old Cristian Segundo Garcia, were shot and killed in the parking lot of the event space at around 10:45 p.m. An autopsy later confirmed that Serjio Adrian Segundo died from a gunshot wound to the head and neck.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Law enforcement who were nearby identified a vehicle leaving the area and began a pursuit. During the chase, the suspect allegedly threw a semiautomatic handgun out of the vehicle, which was later recovered by officers. The pursuit ended when the suspect circled back to the AWPPW Hall, abandoned his vehicle, and attempted to flee on foot. Officers quickly apprehended him. The suspect was identified as 49-year-old Andres Carrasco-Sanchez of Kelso. He was arrested and booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on two counts of first-degree murder.
Court documents later revealed the alleged motive behind the tragic shooting. Carrasco-Sanchez reportedly told investigators that he became angry because he believed the victims were smiling at his girlfriend, which he interpreted as flirting and a sign of disrespect. According to the documents, he left the party, drove home to get a handgun, and then returned to confront the men. He allegedly admitted to investigators that he shot both Serjio and Cristian in the head. After being told the men had died, Carrasco-Sanchez reportedly stated, "It's their fault, they started it." The girlfriend of one of the victims stated that she did not know the suspect.
Andres Carrasco-Sanchez was charged with two counts of aggravated first-degree murder with a firearm enhancement, unlawful possession of a firearm, and attempting to elude a pursuing police officer. Investigators also noted that Carrasco-Sanchez was prohibited from possessing firearms due to a prior felony conviction. At his arraignment on April 21, 2026, Carrasco-Sanchez pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was ordered to be held without bail pending his trial.
