On a summer day in Seattle, Washington, the life of Pamela Jean Pam Hall, a 58-year-old White/Caucasian female, was tragically cut short. On July 28, 2006, Hall was at her job at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, where she served as the director of the annual fundraising campaign. It was on this day that a man forced his way into the building and opened fire, forever altering the lives of those inside.
The assailant, Naveed Afzal Haq, made his way through the office, shooting six
women. Amid the chaos and terror, Pamela Hall was fatally wounded. Five other women were injured but survived the attack. The gunman's rampage was brought to an end when he surrendered to the police after being on the phone with a 911 dispatcher.
During the 911 call, Haq expressed anger towards the United States' policies regarding Israel and the war in Iraq. He was subsequently arrested and faced a trial for his actions. In December 2009, Naveed Afzal Haq was convicted of aggravated first-degree murder for the death of Pamela Hall, as well as multiple counts of attempted murder and other charges. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
