In the early hours of May 23, 2015, the life of Martin Douglas, a 56-year-old Black or African American man, was tragically cut short in a driveway in Federal Way, Washington. The night began with a favor for an acquaintance, Justina Houston, who borrowed his car. Houston, along with her roommate Yesenia Cuellar and Cuellar's infant daughter, picked up Michael Anthony Espinosa and his friend, Alex Delker. Their outing took a dark turn as they went to obtain and then smoke methamphetamine.
