On a summer day in Vancouver, Washington, the life of 66-year-old Hispanic female, Adela Ruiz-Gonzales, was tragically cut short. On July 14, 2015, she became a victim in a violent domestic dispute that unfolded within the walls of a Hazel Dell home. The events of that day left a lasting scar on her family and the community.
The incident was determined to be a double murder and suicide perpetrated by Robert Diaz Gutierrez.
Along with Adela, another woman, 40-year-old Elizabeth Orozco, also lost her life. The Clark County Sheriff's Office investigated the harrowing event, concluding that Gutierrez was responsible for the deaths of both women before taking his own life at the scene.
