In the summer of 2015, a quiet home in Bellingham, Washington, became the scene of a heart-wrenching tragedy that claimed the life of one-year-old Miles Jordon, a Caucasian male. The devastating event unfolded when a real estate agent, preparing for an open house on July 19th, arrived at the family's residence and made a grim discovery. Hearing a woman's calls for help from a locked upstairs bedroom, the agent forced the door open to find a scene of unimaginable horror.
Inside the room
lay the bodies of Miles and his 59-year-old father, Michael David Jordan. Both had been shot and are believed to have been deceased for a couple of days. Also in the room was the boy's mother, 43-year-old Erin Lee Jordan, who was suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. It was later revealed that she had shot her husband and son while they were sleeping before turning the gun on herself in a failed suicide attempt.
Following the discovery, Erin Jordan was transported to a hospital to be treated for her injuries and was subsequently arrested. In her confession to law enforcement, she stated that she had killed her husband and son to "save them." According to court documents, she felt overwhelmed, depressed, and believed they were being stalked. These feelings led her to plan the killings for two days. She was charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of her husband and their young son. Both Erin and Michael Jordan had been teachers at the Lummi Nation School.
