On the night of Saturday, October 18, 2025, a burst of gunfire near the intersection of West Horton Road and Meridian Street in Bellingham, Washington, marked the final moments of 26-year-old Daytin Duronso-Harp's life. A White / Caucasian male, Duronso-Harp was fatally wounded in the shooting, which is now the subject of a homicide investigation by the Bellingham Police Department.
As of now, authorities have not made any arrests and are actively seeking information from the public regarding potential suspects.
The incident unfolded around 11:50 p.m. when police received calls reporting shots fired in the area. Witnesses told authorities they saw a vehicle speeding away from the scene. Despite a search, officers were initially unable to locate a crime scene. The gravity of the situation became clear shortly after, when a vehicle arrived at the PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center carrying two injured men.
Both men required immediate medical attention. Duronso-Harp, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. A 25-year-old man who was with him was also treated for gunshot wounds but was expected to survive.
The Bellingham Police Department's Detective Division is leading the ongoing investigation. Authorities are working to piece together the events of that night and to identify a motive for the shooting.
