Antonio Jones, a 27-year-old Black / African American male, tragically lost his life on April 9, 2019, following a shootout in Burien, a suburb of Seattle, Washington. The fatal incident unfolded around midnight near Fourth Ave SW and 153rd Street. Jones was present during a confrontation involving strangers, but according to surveillance footage, he was not armed and did not appear to be physically involved in the altercation.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Remembered as a loving father to his daughter, Lamiyya, and a loyal friend with an infectious ability to make people laugh, Antonio was an all-around athlete in his youth, excelling in both basketball and football. The investigation into his death led to the identification of two men. Bryce McFarland, a felon, admitted to firing a gun multiple times during the incident and was subsequently charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. Another man, Brandon Hoffman, was identified as the individual who allegedly fired the fatal shot that killed Jones. Hoffman was charged with unlawful delivery of a firearm, as he had provided the weapon to McFarland prior to the shootout. Despite these charges, no one has been charged with murder in connection with Antonio Jones's death. Hoffman was released after posting bond, and a warrant was issued for McFarland, who remains at large and is considered dangerous by authorities. The investigation by the King County Sheriff's Office continues as they seek to bring justice for Antonio and his grieving family.
