In the early hours of April 24, 2019, the life of Allen Ridley, a 32-year-old Black / African American man, was tragically cut short in Tukwila, Washington. Just after midnight, Ridley was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a gas station located near the Tukwila light rail stop on Tukwila International Boulevard. Emergency services rushed him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
The investigation into Ridley's death led
Tukwila police to two individuals. A 24-year-old man from the nearby city of Renton was apprehended and subsequently charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting. Investigators determined that the weapon used in the homicide was a 9mm handgun that had been reported stolen from a residence in Monroe, Washington.
In a related development at the crime scene, another man, a 26-year-old from Kent, was arrested. His arrest was for attempting to enter the secured area of the investigation. He faced charges of obstruction and was also found to have an outstanding warrant for illegal possession of a firearm. The thorough investigation conducted by the Tukwila police, with assistance from other agencies, aimed to bring justice for the violent death of Allen Ridley.
