On a tragic night in Auburn, Washington, the life of 28-year-old Andres O. Bradsher, a Black / African American male, was cut short by gun violence. Just after midnight on September 11, 2021, Bradsher was fatally shot in the chest outside the library at Les Gove Park. He had reportedly gone to the park to meet his brother, Emmanuel Bradsher. Despite being wounded, Andres managed to get to his car and was driven to a hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation
into Andres Bradsher's death quickly focused on his brother, Emmanuel, as a key suspect. The events of that night took another devastating turn just moments after the shooting. Emmanuel Bradsher was involved in a horrific car crash. Driving a Porsche Cayenne at speeds exceeding 100 mph, he lost control and collided head-on with a Honda Accord. The two occupants of the Honda were killed in the crash, and Emmanuel and his girlfriend sustained serious injuries.
Following the collision, authorities found a Glock and a spent shell casing inside Emmanuel's Porsche. Forensic analysis was initiated to determine if this was the weapon used to shoot his brother, Andres. Further investigation revealed that Emmanuel's blood alcohol content was nearly twice the legal limit two hours after the crash. He was subsequently charged with two counts of vehicular homicide and one count of vehicular assault.
Despite the serious charges against him, Emmanuel Bradsher was released from the hospital in October 2021 and was not taken into custody. His current whereabouts remain unknown, though it has been reported that he has been active on social media. The community continues to seek justice for Andres Bradsher and the two other victims who lost their lives in the subsequent car crash.
