In the early morning hours of July 31, 2022, Tenisio Fiamate, a 30-year-old Hispanic man, was with a friend near the waterfront at Thea's Park in Tacoma, Washington, when an unknown individual opened fire on them. Fiamate was struck in the head by a gunshot. In the immediate aftermath, his wounded friend managed to drive them both to a nearby hospital.
