Patrolman Christopher M. Dunn, aged 27, tragically lost his life on April 3, 1980, in Lyndon, Kentucky. He was serving with the Jefferson County Police Department at the time of his death. The incident occurred outside a Lyndon Food Mart grocery store at 813 Lyndon Lane in Louisville. Patrolman Dunn and another officer had taken a man into custody when a 15-year-old female companion of the man retrieved a revolver from the man's truck and opened fire.
