In the summer of 2014, a domestic dispute in Louisville, Kentucky, tragically cut short the life of 19-year-old Joshua Gordon. On June 16th, the young man was at his sister's apartment at the Willow Creek Apartments on Shepherdsville Road when her ex-boyfriend, 22-year-old Quenton Huddleston, arrived and confronted her. The situation quickly escalated, and Huddleston fatally shot Gordon in the chest.
The violence did not end with Joshua's death.
Huddleston then turned the gun on his ex-girlfriend, shooting her in the face. She survived the critical injury. A 3-year-old child was also present in the apartment but was physically unharmed. Neighbors later reported that Huddleston had a history of terrorizing his ex-girlfriend, which included breaking into her apartment, sending threatening messages, and setting her mother's car on fire. An active emergency protective order against him had failed to deter his escalating harassment.
Following the deadly encounter, a manhunt for Quenton Huddleston ensued. He was apprehended three days later and faced a litany of charges, including murder, arson, theft, and violation of a protective order. While awaiting trial for Joshua Gordon's murder, Huddleston was indicted on additional charges related to separate incidents, painting a clearer picture of a pattern of violent behavior.
