In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Henderson, Kentucky, the life of William Zachary Sullivan, a 29-year-old White/Caucasian male, was tragically cut short. On June 7, 2015, Sullivan was found in his home on North Main Street with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The community was left in shock, remembering Sullivan as the former owner of Bridgeview Coffee, a local gathering spot where he was a familiar and friendly face.
He was a husband and a father to two young daughters.
The events of that day unfolded amidst what investigators described as a heated, day-long argument between Sullivan and his wife, Amber Sullivan. Authorities reported that the couple's two children were present in the home at the time of the shooting. According to the investigation, the argument culminated with Amber Sullivan allegedly retrieving a handgun and shooting her husband from the top of a stairway as he stood on the stairs below. Two 911 calls were made, one from inside the house by one of the children, and another from a witness outside the residence.
Following the incident, Amber Sullivan, then 28, was arrested and charged with murder in connection with her husband's death. Investigators noted that she provided multiple conflicting accounts of what had transpired. Initially, she claimed the shooting was an accident, then suggested she had shot at a burglar, and also stated she was unaware the gun was loaded.
