In the late summer evening of August 25, 2022, tragedy struck the Harbor House Christian Center in Henderson, Kentucky, a shelter for men seeking refuge and a new beginning. Among the residents was 44-year-old Chad Holmes, a man who had been celebrating his sobriety and a renewed sense of faith. Friends and fellow residents knew him as a man with a good sense of humor who was excited about the future, including the prospect of getting a new car the very next day.
