William Robert Harston, a 45-year-old White male, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022, in Henderson, Kentucky. The Bowling Green native was a loving son, father, and grandfather who was known for being an avid outdoorsman.
On the day of his death, Harston had purchased a firearm from a local pawn shop on the Henderson strip. While he was in his pickup truck loading the newly acquired weapon, it accidentally discharged.
The Henderson County Coroner's Office confirmed that Harston sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Following an investigation into the circumstances, the coroner officially ruled his death as accidental.
A celebration of his life was held by his family, and he was remembered as a cherished friend to many. He is survived by his two sons, his parents, and other loving family members. There were no arrests or suspects in connection with this incident, as it was determined to be a tragic accident.
