When the pandemonium subsided, it was discovered that five people had been struck by bullets.
El-Amin was one of the victims, having sustained a serious gunshot wound. He was rushed to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital for medical attention.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Kwame El-Amin succumbed to his injuries on June 25, 2015. A well-known and respected figure in the community, he was a devoted father to three children and a local entrepreneur who operated a popular food truck.
