In the pre-dawn hours of April 26, 2019, the quiet intersection of Goodloe and Race streets in Lexington, Kentucky, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Responding to reports of shots fired around 3:45 a.m., police officers arrived to a grim discovery. Inside a vehicle, they found the bodies of 44-year-old Shannon Goodwin and 28-year-old Heather Grigsby. Both had been fatally shot in what was quickly classified as a double homicide.
