In the late afternoon of August 22, 2015, a quiet Saturday in the small town of Wickliffe, Kentucky, was shattered by a violent altercation in the city park. The incident resulted in the death of 38-year-old Blake Radcliffe Burnley, a White male from the nearby community of Barlow. Burnley, a mechanic and a member of the Wickliffe First Baptist Church, was pronounced dead at the scene.
