On a cold February evening in 1986, the city of Shively, Kentucky, lost a dedicated public servant. John Robert Weiss, a 25-year-old male detective with the Shively Police Department, was working undercover in a narcotics investigation on the 2500 block of South Park Road. It was on this street that his life was tragically cut short when he was shot on February 12, 1986.
