On October 2, 2016, Brittney, a White/Caucasian female, was shot and killed by her boyfriend, Tony Deshawn Brown, in a devastating murder-suicide. Brittney was a devoted mother to her two children, and her mother described her as having a 'true heart of gold.'

Authorities confirmed that Brittney died from a single gunshot wound, and her death was ruled the 88th homicide in Louisville that year. The couple's 11-month-old baby girl was tragically in the home at the time of the incident.
