On a cold Saturday, February 4, 2017, the life of 53-year-old Clancy Ray Adkins was tragically cut short in his own home on Coon Branch Road in Pikeville, Kentucky. A retired bricklayer and a man who had bravely battled and overcome leukemia, Adkins was looking forward to an evening spent with friends, planning to cook dinner and watch a University of Kentucky basketball game. That evening, however, would never come to be.
Sometime during that day, Adkins, a White male, was fatally shot.
