In the summer of 2017, a young life was tragically cut short in Louisville, Kentucky. Sidney D. Smith, an 18-year-old male, was found deceased inside a residence in the Shawnee neighborhood on Sunday, July 23, 2017. The initial call to authorities shortly before 5 p.m. reported a man down in the 3600 block of Vermont Avenue, near Young Elementary School. When Louisville Metro Police officers arrived, they discovered Smith had sustained a gunshot wound.
