In the quiet town of Monticello, Kentucky, the life of 20-year-old Matthew Young was tragically cut short on August 23, 2017. A White male, Young was found deceased from a gunshot wound on Mercer Drive, a discovery made by the Monticello Police Department that would send ripples through the community. The events leading to his death reportedly began with an altercation earlier in the day involving a friend of Young and the individual who would later be identified as the suspect.
