In the early hours of a Saturday morning in Lexington, Kentucky, Demarcus Lamont Clay, a 45-year-old man, was fatally shot. The incident occurred just after 2 a.m. on May 19, 2018, outside the Office Lounge located at 1533 Eastland Parkway. When Lexington police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Clay suffering from a gunshot wound.
Clay was quickly transported to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Despite the efforts of the medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 2:38 a.m., according to the Fayette County Coroner's Office. Another individual was also wounded in the shooting and later arrived at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
In the days following the shooting, the Lexington police appealed to the public for assistance in their investigation. They noted that several people were in the vicinity of the Office Lounge at the time of the incident and urged any witnesses or individuals with information to come forward. As of now, public online sources have not reported any arrests or the identification of any suspects in connection with the death of Demarcus Lamont Clay.
