Jaymes Lynard Jour'don 'Jordy' Coffey, a 28-year-old male, passed away at his Lexington, Kentucky home on November 15, 2018. Known to his loved ones as Jordy, he was born on October 9, 1990. At the time of his death, he was working as a delivery driver for DoorDash. His interests included fishing, reading, and gaming, and he had been an avid baseball player from a young age through his college years.
On the morning of his death, Lexington police responded to a call of shots fired at a
residence on Krissy Way. Upon arrival, they discovered Jaymes Coffey with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The events leading up to the fatal shooting reportedly began as a verbal argument between Jaymes and his younger brother, Timothy Coffey.
Following the incident, Timothy Coffey, who was 26 at the time, fled the scene. A witness saw him leaving, and he was later located by police on Pierson Drive. Timothy Coffey was arrested and charged with the murder of his older brother. He was subsequently taken to the Fayette County Detention Center. The death marked the 22nd homicide in Lexington that year.
