In the Park Hill neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, a life was tragically cut short on the evening of Friday, April 12, 2019. Kevin J. Burse, a 31-year-old Black male, was found in front of a residence on South 20th Street with a fatal gunshot wound. The Jefferson County Coroner's office later identified him as the victim of the shooting.
At the time of his death, Burse was a father to three sons, Kevin Burse, Jr., Kam'Raun Burse, and Julez Gore, and a daughter, Kamarie Burse.
He was survived by his mother, Tiffany Burse, his father, Kevin Rhodes, and several siblings. His death left a void in the lives of his family and friends, who remembered him as a beloved brother and friend.
The Louisville Metro Police Department is investigating the shooting as a homicide. In the immediate aftermath, authorities appealed to the public for any information that could lead to an arrest in the case. As of now, the case remains an open homicide investigation, and no arrests have been announced, nor have any suspects been publicly identified. The circumstances surrounding the shooting and a motive have not been released by law enforcement.
