On a summer day in Louisville, Kentucky, the life of a young man was tragically cut short. Cortez De'Sean Cobble, a 24-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on June 15, 2019. The incident occurred at 815 Cecil Avenue, a location that would become the focal point of a homicide investigation by the Louisville Metro Police Department. At the time of his death, Cobble was a resident of the city where he was born and raised.
Remembered by friends and family, Cobble was a graduate of Seneca
High School and an employee at King Fish Restaurant. His death left a void in the lives of his parents, Melvin Cobble and Antoinette Mozee, as well as his numerous siblings and grandparents. His funeral services were held a week after his passing, on June 22, 2019, followed by his burial at Westhaven Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.
In the years that have followed, the case surrounding Cortez Cobble's death has remained open and unsolved. The Louisville Metro Police Department continues to classify the shooting as a homicide. Despite their ongoing investigation, there has been no publicly released information regarding any potential suspects, and no arrests have been made in connection with the crime.
