In the fading light of a November evening in Lexington, Kentucky, events were set in motion that would tragically end the life of Wesley Eugene Carter Jr. On November 22, 2019, in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Camelot Drive, the sound of a gunshot shattered the evening calm. It was some time before police, who were in the area on another call, were flagged down and discovered Carter lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound.
