On the evening of December 26, 2019, events unfolded in Bedford, Kentucky, that concluded with the death of Christopher Keith Bell, a 45-year-old male. The Kentucky State Police were initially called to a domestic violence incident in Trimble County at approximately 6:04 p.m. Upon investigation, it was determined that Christopher Bell had been involved in an altercation with his mother and brother before returning to his home on Ogden Ridge Road.
Law enforcement officers proceeded to
Bell's residence but were unable to establish contact with him. Due to the potential of a barricaded individual inside, the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team was dispatched to the location. The response team utilized a robotic device to enter the home, where they found two individuals, later identified as Christopher Bell and his wife, 45-year-old Christen D. Bell.
Both individuals had sustained gunshot wounds which the preliminary investigation indicated were self-inflicted. Christen Bell was pronounced dead at the scene. Christopher Bell was transported by Trimble County EMS to Carroll County Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The investigation into the deaths of the married couple was handled by the Kentucky State Police. There were no reports of any other suspects or arrests in connection with this incident.
