In the early hours of New Year's Day in 2011, the city of Louisville, Kentucky, marked the beginning of the year with a tragic event. Rodman S. Singleton Jr., a 55-year-old African-American male, was found shot in the 4100 block of Muhammad Ali Boulevard. His death was the first homicide of the year in the city.
