In a moment that shattered an ordinary Sunday afternoon, Dayshawn Tolbert, a 37-year-old man from Louisville, Kentucky, lost his life in a senseless act of violence. On May 24, 2020, what began as a verbal dispute at a Kroger gas station on West Broadway escalated into a fatal shooting. Tolbert was at the gas pumps when he became embroiled in an argument with another man. The disagreement tragically culminated in the other individual drawing a handgun and firing multiple shots.
