Jaquarius 'Cory' Bettison, a 21-year-old male from Grand Rapids, Michigan, was visiting his sister in Louisville, Kentucky, for what was supposed to be a short, three-day trip. On October 2, 2021, while in the Algonquin neighborhood on Moore Court, he was shot. The bullet struck him in the leg, hitting a main artery and causing significant blood loss.
