On a summer evening in Louisville, Kentucky, the life of Michael Thomas Jr., a 33-year-old Black man with a passion for music, was tragically cut short. On July 5, 2015, Thomas was found shot to death at an apartment complex near Iroquois Park. He was a father and a local rapper known to many by his stage name, 'Louis Keyz.' His music, which had even graced the local radio waves, was silenced that night.
