In the early morning hours of October 23, 2021, the life of 30-year-old Dontae Dewayne Masden was tragically cut short in the Russell neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. A Black male, Masden was discovered by Louisville Metro Police Department officers around 5:30 a.m. in the 3100 block of Elliott Avenue. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.
