In the early morning hours of Halloween 2021, a night that should have been filled with festive celebration, turned into a scene of tragedy in Louisville, Kentucky. Latroy Hornbeak, a 22-year-old Black male, was working as a security guard for a private party at the Unity Palace Event Center on Shepherdsville Road. Alongside him was his cousin, Darius Anderson, who was also 22. The two were inseparable in life and, tragically, would be united in death.
