In the early evening hours of February 17, 2022, a sense of unease settled over the Maple Brook Apartments in east Louisville, Kentucky. Just before 6 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet, drawing officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department to the 11500 block of Maple Brook Drive. There, they discovered the body of 19-year-old Isaiah Edward Elder, a White / Caucasian male, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
