In the spring of 2022, a tragedy struck in the Buechel neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, forever altering the lives of those who knew and loved a young man named Enok Nzayikorera. On the afternoon of April 13th, the sounds of everyday life were shattered by gunfire in the 4300 block of Norbrook Drive, just off Fegenbush Lane. When officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department arrived at an apartment complex around 2:30 p.m.
following reports of a shooting, they discovered a grim scene.
There, they found 15-year-old Enok Nzayikorera, a Black male, who had been fatally shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene, his life cut tragically short. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later publicly identified the young victim, confirming the community's fears. Enok was a student at Moore High School, and his sudden and violent death left a void in the lives of his family and friends.
The Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit immediately launched an investigation into the shooting death of the teenager. At the time of the initial reports, no suspects had been publicly identified, and no arrests had been made. Authorities appealed to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case, urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
