In the early morning hours of Sunday, April 16, 2023, the life of 26-year-old Keionté Ramsey, a Black male from Louisville, Kentucky, was tragically cut short. The incident that led to his death unfolded in the vibrant Highlands neighborhood, a popular area known for its restaurants and nightlife. It was around 4:30 a.m. when police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Bardstown Road following reports of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Ramsey at 1033 Bardstown Road,
having sustained at least one gunshot wound. He was rushed to the University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Keionté Ramsey succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
