In the early morning hours of June 13, 2022, a grim discovery was made in an alley near Rubel Park in the 600 block of Barret Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky. The body of 49-year-old Derick Williams, a male resident of the city, was found by responding Louisville Metro Police Department officers at approximately 3:20 a.m. The initial scene was disturbing as it was apparent that an attempt had been made to set the body on fire.
