In a quiet apartment community in the St. Matthews area of Louisville, the lives of two men were tragically cut short in the summer of 2022. On the evening of June 30th, police responded to a call at the Oxmoor Apartments Complex on Steeplecrest Circle, where they discovered the bodies of 40-year-old Steven Curtis and 21-year-old Gary Brown Jr. Both men, pronounced dead at the scene in the early morning hours of July 1, had been fatally shot. The incident left neighbors in the normally peaceful community unsettled and searching for answers.
For over a year, the case of the double homicide remained a priority for the Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit.
