Sergeant Rogelio "Roy" Gonzalez Jr., aged 47, was a dedicated officer with the Franklin Parish Sheriff's Office in Louisiana. On July 15, 2005, while responding to a call about a man shooting at an airplane, Sergeant Gonzalez and three other deputies arrived at the scene. The homeowner, armed with several firearms, opened fire on the deputies when they ordered him to drop his weapon.
