In the early evening of July 17, 2022, the life of 33-year-old Edward Studvent, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in Lexington, Kentucky. At approximately 6:44 p.m., police responded to a call of a shooting on Hedgewood Court. Upon their arrival, they discovered Studvent suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
The Fayette County Coroner's Office later confirmed his identity and officially ruled his death a homicide.
The shooting that claimed Studvent's life was part of a violent weekend in Lexington, being the second deadly shooting in just 48 hours.
