Arrell S. Monegan, age 16, was fatally shot on March 16, 2013, in the Gage Park neighborhood of Chicago. He was with two friends at the 2400 block of West 58th Street when an unknown gunman approached and opened fire. Monegan was shot in the shoulder and back, and he was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after the attack. His tragic death was ruled as a homicide, and reports indicate that he might have been an unintended target in a case of mistaken identity.
