Martell J. Lawrence, a 16-year-old African American male, was tragically shot to death on April 4, 2015, in the West Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Responding to a call of shots fired, police found Martell unresponsive on the sidewalk in the 6500 block of South Marshfield Avenue at approximately 12:18 p.m. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
