On the morning of December 10, 2022, tragedy struck a residential neighborhood in Covington, Kentucky, when 33-year-old Antwon Mulder, a Black male from Cincinnati, was fatally shot inside a home. Officers from the Covington Police Department were dispatched to the residence located at 203 West 21st Street around 7:41 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, first responders discovered Mulder suffering from a severe gunshot wound.
Emergency medical personnel on the scene provided immediate aid before rushing him to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for advanced treatment. Despite the life-saving efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
In the hours following the violence, homicide detectives and the Crime Scene Unit processed the evidence at the West 21st Street location to piece together the events that led to the shooting. By the following day, investigators had identified a suspect in connection with the murder. Police announced that they were looking for 28-year-old Danny Tarrell White, against whom they had secured a nationwide warrant for murder. Law enforcement officials cautioned the public that White was considered armed and dangerous and advised residents not to approach him if seen. Instead, community members were urged to contact 911 or Crime Stoppers with any information regarding his whereabouts, as the search for the suspect commenced immediately following the identification.
