On a tragic Sunday, May 25, 2014, the life of Mark Kroening, a 62-year-old Caucasian male from Covington, Kentucky, was violently cut short in a horrifying public display of violence that stemmed from a bitter and protracted family dispute. The fatal encounter unfolded in the seemingly innocuous setting of a Dairy Queen parking lot on Decoursey Avenue, a place of family treats and casual gatherings, which on this day became a scene of a brutal murder-suicide.
