Curtis Alan Felt, born on November 17, 1954, in Alexandria, Minnesota, was a Deputy Sheriff with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. On June 29, 1978, at the age of 23, Curtis was tragically killed in the line of duty. The incident occurred when Curtis was transporting a suspect who had been convicted of a DUI and subsequently sentenced to 30 days in jail for contempt of court after failing to pay the fine.
